Andrew Thomas FInstF
Chief Executive and founder, Charity Consultants Ltd and Prospecting for Gold Ltd
Andrew has more than 30 years' experience of not for profit organisations and charities in the UK, working for Save the Children, Oxfam, UNICEF UK, the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) where he co-ordinated appeals based both in Washington and London, and at the Prince’s Youth Business Trust as the Director of the £40m Appeal from 1987-1990. He set up Charity Consultants Ltd in 1990. Andrew is a Fellow of the Institute of Fundraising, past board member of the Association of Fundraising Consultants and of Friends of the Earth, and volunteer with the Globe Theatre Appeal Committee and the International Committees for the International Year of the Disabled of Shelter. A regular speaker and author on fundraising, he runs the ACEVO Fundraising Helpline.
RESEARCH SERVICES James Redhead MInstF (Cert)
James is an experienced fundraising professional with 15 years' experience gained with some of the largest UK charities. James acts as a consultant to a number of the major UK charities including The Royal British Legion and Age Concern. James is co-founder of Charity Technology Trust, which provides technology products and services to more than 6,000 charity clients. James joined Prospecting for Gold six years ago to develop its core databases and range of products and services. During this period Prospecting for Gold has grown by 500% and gained more than 500 clients.
Corporate team - Claire Wilson MInstF
Claire has worked in the charity sector for twenty years, including ten with Charity Consultants Ltd. Her background in PR and marketing and her time as sponsorship manager at The Prince's Trust give her a broad range of skills and understanding of CSR within a company. This combination of experience and instinct has helped her clients achieve both financial success and long term business partners. Current successes include raising $500,000 for a programme on behalf of disabled children in Russia and bringing on board new business partners for Shaw Trust's Mental Health campaign. Recent and current clients include Borough Market (Food School), Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London Zoo, Partners in Hope and Foundation for the Relief of Disabled Orphans. Claire is a former Trustee of the Institute of Fundraising.
Grants team - Isabel White MInstF
An NCVO Approved Consultant, Isabel specialises in grants and interdisciplinary partnership projects. She has worked in public, private and voluntary sectors, helping to raise more than £17 million for more than 100 clients over more than 120 assignments. Her experience covers the arts, (dis)ability, education, enterprise, the environment, health, heritage, housing, human rights, leisure, libraries and museums, regeneration, renewable energy, social welfare and waste/ recycling projects. A trustee/director of several not-for-profits, school governor, regular speaker and trainer, Isabel has worked with young and old, gays and lesbian, people with disabilities and special needs, and from minority communities and marginalised communities.
Higher and further education team - Veronica Warner AInstF
Veronica spent much of her career in universities, first as head of a careers service, then broadening her role across internal and external communications and student recruitment as Associate Director, University Relations at Aston University. She later became Director of Public Relations at the University of Bath. With more than 12 years' experience in fundraising, Veronica has held roles in higher education and in the hospital sector, working primarily as a strategy and major gifts fundraiser while turning her hand as needed to alumni relations/ the annual fund, community and legacy fundraising.
Interim and mentoring team - Jackie Mendoza MInstF
Jackie has more than 16 years’ commercial sales, marketing and voluntary sector fundraising experience. She has worked for charities of all sizes - managing change, kick-starting or trouble-shooting income streams or setting up a fundraising function. Jackie realised her strengths and interests lay in interim management, and alongside her own consultancy she heads up the interim management and mentoring service for Charity Consultants Ltd. Jackie has worked as an interim manager for two years, specialising in fundraising turnaround. Her specialisms include new business development, corporates, major donors and change management.

Revenue / community fundraising team - Deborah Dow MInstF
Deborah was Director of Fundraising for Sue Ryder Care between 2002 and 2005 and she recruited the Appeal Board for the £150m capital appeal. She has managed PR and corporate events programmes for clients, using her commercial experience to develop new funding products and partnerships with local authorities and companies. Deborah’s specialisms include fundraising at senior strategic level and individual level; community and marketing for clients in the housing sector; NHS Trusts; the hospice movement; neurological services and children’s charities. Deborah’s community experience includes planned/tax effective giving programmes, direct mail, lottery, annual house to house collections and legacies, and back of house support, database procurement, installation and management.
